Shop Bonsai™ was Canada’s first mobile retail marketplace, originally launched as a B2C platform curated for millennial males. Built to captivate shoppers through storytelling rather than traditional product displays, the app connected merchants with the right customers through engaging, story-driven content.
At this stage in their business, we worked alongside Concrete Design, who designed the app and brand, to help Bonsai make an impactful debut. Our work included in-app content, branded collateral, retail signage, social media assets, website development, photography, video, and digital media.
To introduce their anti-retail brand, Bonsai launched at Dundas Square with an interactive design exhibit built from stacked shipping containers. Featuring a live art performance by Alec Monopoly, the activation drew crowds of industry professionals, driving app downloads and boosting product sales.
